On September 27 and 28, the Teatro Anfitrione in Rome will host a unique double event: Grace’s Tricks Revue, the show created by Grace Hall together with her extraordinary Starlette from Il Tempio del Burlesque, celebrating the school’s 15th anniversary since its founding in 2010 as a landmark institution in Italy.
To mark this important milestone, the audience will enjoy two distinct performances featuring more than 30 students, who will bring to the stage all the magic, variety, and transformative power of burlesque.
Adding even more sparkle to the cast will be Charleston maniac Criss Bluebell (Cristina Pensiero), a refined and witty performer whose retro elegance and explosive energy captivate audiences.
The show is a journey through time, archetypes, and female power, where cultures and styles intertwine to create striking visual and narrative tableaux—offering the audience a true celebration of femininity in all its forms.
In recent years, burlesque has established itself not only as a performing art but also as a powerful tool for self-discovery, enabling practitioners to gain awareness and self-esteem, along with emotional, psychological, and creative benefits, even when approached as a discipline.
It is a voyage into the feminine universe that spans cultures, styles, and archetypes—among feathers, glitter, and spectacular costumes. On stage, the art of burlesque becomes a celebration of the body and a vehicle for personal transformation.
A pioneer of burlesque in Italy, Grace Hall founded Il Tempio del Burlesque in 2010, the first Italian school dedicated to this art form. Also known as actress Emma Nitti, her career spans cinema, television, theatre, fashion, and music, bringing burlesque to both national and international stages. She is also the author and director of the documentary Burlesque Extravaganza (Prime Video), which recounts the history and evolution of this unique performance art.
